Silly Zoe

OH the irony! I of course was up all night again ( waited too late to take sleep meds) and Zoya decided to sleep in this morning. Normally she is up before the sun. So I was showing Sophie how to make French Toast. ( She loved whisking everything together) Just a few minutes ago I was having Sophie tell the big girls what was in it. She said um.... milk ... eggs.... chocolate chips...uh... (she was trying to remember cinnamon) when Zoe pipes up and says " French! " So I guess we have a bottle of "French" hanging around! At any rate it was yummy! (oh yeah one of the other ingredients was also toast!)

Chuck E Cheese.....argh!

Well I survived, barely. Things started out great. The birthday boy was cute and excited and had a blast. Girls all had fun and I played a ton of games with them. Unfortunately , I had woken up super super early, am suffering from miserable allergies and kids who are sick/better/sick/better.
Well Zoe has a phobia about characters: won't go near Santa, Easter Bunny or any thing similar. There was the Chuck E robot guy who sang on a stage ( of COURSE right near our table) and it took a lot of bribing to get her used to it. THEN (this is where is gets fun) they start announcing that Chuck E is COMING OUT SOON! Birthday boy is bouncing out of his chair in total glee ( he turned five) and Zoe keeps looking nervously around her at the "robot" waiting for it to jump off the stage and eat her. So out comes the guy in the Chuck E suit and poor Zoe was eating her pizza and didn't notice. What does Chuck do? STANDS practically on top of her waving and such. She leapt out of her chair and clung to me like a terrifed monkey. Kids all dance and there is insane singing hooplah. Well poor Zoe has a dilemma. You see right before Chuck made his appearance they had brought out MASSIVE cupcakes ( Steph, what WERE you thinking??) So my poor terrified sugar addict has one eye on Chuck E and the other on the cupcakes. After 10 minutes of dancing, singing and loud stuff they start serving the kids. WELL, then Chuck comes over for photos. Poor Zoe would not budge. Would not drop her cupcake and sat in her chair, with one arm grabbing for Emily ( she was is a total panic) and the other on the damn cupcake. Well, Chuck E finally took off and she ate in peace. I am ready to leave, beyond tired hoping I don't fall asleep on the dang floor but we have to turn in tickets to get prizes. There is one person working the prizes. It took 25 @#%^^%$#ing mintues to get four cheap prizes. Oh then ZOe had to go potty which OF COURSE was massive diarreah. ( I KNEW frosting was evil!!) We finally get outta there, get home and.....had a nice after noon. HA you were waiting for more trauma!! The kids played, we watched a movie had a super Roast Chicken dinner and played outside till the younger two passed out at 7:15. So far everyone seems ok but I am not taking anything for granted. I am gonna watch a grown -up movie ( or try to) and hopfully get a good night sleep. ( snort) For tomorrow I am thinking of my hubby and chilling with the kids. We have a cook out planned and then get ready for a crazy week of school activities.
Have a great rest of the "weekend"!!

Mommy Day

It was a fairly un eventful Mother's day for me. I had TRIED to sleep in. Ok, the only reason why I wanted to was because of my head injury I am not sleeping well, and I knew I would be tired. Poor Emily did her best to keep the little ones quiet but... no luck. Every 9 minutes 30 seconds there was a scream, screetch, "OW!", "Stoooooooop!", "I'm telling mommy!", thumping down the hall , and once loud giggling. Then a HUGE clatter that sounded like my entire pot rack fell down ( the girls were getting out pots and pan for who KNOWS what!) . THen the phone rang. THen I heard a strange buzzing noise. The only thing missing was the fire alarm ( it goes off if you even think about cooking, really!) and the doorbell. So I gave up on the fantasy of sleep. Katey and Emily moslty cooperated to make .... pound cake . ( of all things. Very sweet but I HATE cake!) They even cleaned up (mostly) their mess. They did not kill eachother. That was a great gift. They had only 7 arguments all day. Sophie was crabby but cut the whining down to about every hour instead of every 37 seconds. Zoe ate pound cake all day. Emily played with the girls and thier little friends outside aaaalllll day. THANK YOU EMILY!! I immersed myself in my Twilight books, got mad over the phone going in and out, did some laundry, and "rested". We had an un-exciting dinner, watched a movie and then everyone was off to bed. I did some more reading and crashed out fairly early. Slept a teeny bit better. The kids made some cute cards and the day is over! Now its a drizzle gray Monday , perfect for cuddling on the couch. Hey, I still have to "rest" right?

Here is Sophie and her congressional award for academic achievment. We are so proud of her!
You do not ever want to wake up to hair all over the floor. I was recovering from my concussion and had no sleep. Fell asleep on the couch and woke up to all that hair. My first thought was, oh MY GOD. is it mine??
here is little ms. naughty. Doesn't look too bad really. I have seen kids do worse. Then is Katey AFTER the emergecy hair fix. She got a terrible haircut at a salon . My very good friend found out her neighbor is a sylist and she fixed it!! I love this on her, though she still isnt' happy about it. If she ever gets ungrounded we are doing hi lights.
Thats about it. I am resting and doing fine and thanks everyone for their support. Planning on relaxing with the kids all day tomorrow for Mothers day. Had a wonderful lunch with a very good friend. NO KIDS> hee hee. We loved it. The best was not having to get up to take someone potty every 13 minutes, or clean up any spills. AND eat HOT food. Never knew stuff tasted so good steaming hot. I love El Torrito!!

Getting out of the house

Ok, as everyone with a baby knows, it takes a mom about 20 times longer to leave the house than someone without kids. Well just so you know, try leaving with four kids. It goes something like this ..
Me: Ok guys lets go!!
K (Katey, 14) and E(Emily, 12) : go where?
S(Sophie, 6) and Z(Zoe, 3) : yaaaaay and waaaaaaah. I'm watching Mickey Mouse!!
Me: Does it matter? I said, lets GO.
K and E: Hang on.
S and Z: where are my shoes? ow, zoe stop!!, mooooooooommy!!
Me: Zoe STOP. get your shoes. Go get in the car.
lo ( little ones) : I can't open the door! Where is my shoe! She took my shoe!!
BG ( Big Girls) wait! hang on! I'm in the toilet. Where are my shoes? She took my shoes!!!
Me. WHere are my shoes? Keys? Everyone OUT.
(get into car, buckle LO in, back out.)
BG : (screaming) WAIT! I forgot my purse, cell phone, to brush my teeth/hair, close the front door!
Me: Fine. (someone gets a text. they stand there. texting) ummmm lets GO. You can text in the car!! ( I recieve evil glare for such a primative suggestion)
LO: I have to go potty!!!!!!
BG: I'll take her/them.
Me. ( waiting. 10 mintues go by. Then another five) Hello?? (Text whoever took LO to go potty) get out of car, go inside. They are all watching TV.
LO: Look mommy, Mickey Mouse!!
BG: OH! yeah, right, hang on, I have a text.
Me: forget it. I'll be back in 20 minutes!!
sigh. It is a blessed miracle they make it to school every day! Life is FUN :)

Here piggy piggy!

I am with Monique on this one! We also do not have swine flu. Yes we are close to Mexico. Yes there have been 10 cases in San Diego. Yes they quarrantined 30 marines at 29 palms. Yes of 75% of the older girls shcools are mexican. THey still have school. There is a cure for this virus called tamiflu. We are up to date on shots and in relativly good health. You can NOT catch this virus from eating pork. You can go out. You can take your kids out. wash your hands. Sneeze into your shirt or a tissue. Dont lick the handle of a Walmart shopping cart. I refuse to get into a panic over this. I have too much stress already!
Ok that said I am playing an interesting game today. Its called "find that smell". (and Becky finally got off her lazy butt and dusted the house) we have a few icky smells and cannot locate the source. Well one of them was a banana peel and apple core under the couch. (Zoe) . I have found such things as a cheese stick, juice boxes and pieces of hot dog. Kateys room is not the source (surprisingly) you do NOT want to know what I have found in there in the past. So I am cleaning and searching. There is also a funny smell in the van....someday I will check that out.
It keeps looking like rain, fingers crossed it does. We need it quite badly. Well we are off to the petting zoo to play with the pigs... just kidding. Pigs are smelly!
