New Hair

I am not happy about how FAT I look but I wanted to show everyone my new color and hi lites. I had emily take a dozen pics and this is the only one where my eyes are half shut! I am tired, but not as tired as I look in this pic! Oh well.

This is my fun new phone so I can text in half the time. I LOVE it. I text like crazy now. Am getting good at the werid keyboard.

Now we have Zoe and Emily . Zoe was bugging Emily while she practiced clarinet so I found Emily's old recorder and gave it to her. There is video of the "concert". Just too cute! Zoe was so proud of her muscial ability. Nick wants to throw the recorder away. (Zoe only plays one note....LOUD!)

Better

I must be finally getting better because this is the first morning I have been able to stay awake!! Slept slightly better last night, think that helped. Tomorrow we have an appt to see Sophies allergist and find out exactly what she is allergic to. Less than a week till company comes ! I am running around trying to clean and make sure they can open closets with out stuff falling on their heads! :)
Yesterday Sophie and Zoe were playing upstairs when I hear this high pitched scream. (eeeeeehhheee heee heeee) I am thinking, oh it finally happened. They broke an arm or something. It was ZOE pretending to whinny like a horse! You don't want to know what she thinks a Zebra sounds like. I may have to start a new blog about my funny 6 and 3 year old!
Back to my madwoman cleaning now....

Table Talk

What a family dinner we had. Nothing special to eat but I had quite a conversation with Sophie and Zoe.
S:Mommy, when I grow up I am going to go to a fancy restaurant.
Me: Oh, who are you going to go with?
S: Oh. ( pause) My husband.
Me: O.k. What will you wear?
S: A pretty dress. A necklace and a bracelet on each arm. I will have a purse with sparkles on it. Some high heel shoes. Oh. and makeup all over.
Me: Wow. That sounds like fun. What will your husband wear?
S:I don't know. HE will have a wallet.
Me: Oh, so he can pay?
S: Yes but I will have a job. His job is to stay home with the kids while I go shopping.
Me: What will your job be?
S: I don't know yet.
Me: ( turning to Zoe) what do YOU want to be??
Z: ( stops, thinks for a minute) OH! I want to be a pwincess!! A PRETTY PWINCESS!! YEAH!!
We all crack up after that. She was soooo serious. I just treasure these moments.

Facebook

Oh am I having FUN on there! It is amazing how many people you find. Even someone i used to baby sit for which is weird considering Katey is the same age I was when I had that job! How time flies! I will probably be posting more pics on the facebook,we will see. So now back to reality and working on those countertops. They are old nasty tile and I am re-grouting them. we have no counterpsace as it is and everyone forgets and puts stuff where I just grouted. oops.
Back to work for me...

I am sick

of being sick!!! WHEN will this crud go away?? (probably when I go to the doctor, lol)
Zoe was sick last night. She had been running a fever on and off. We went bowling and she seemed fine. About 2 am she wakes up crying and shaking. Her temp was 104!! I sponged her down, gave her tylenol and we both slept fitfully. THis morning she is perfectly fine! ( a little grumpy, but fine.) I can not believe that ! KIDS!! She had me so scared and now.. is running around bugging the girls. I finally joined facebook so if any of you have an acct look me up! Or e mail me and I will try to forward the link. I am not going to be on it too much at first, I still need to figure out how to use it. Mostly I like the chat (thanks Angie!!) big surprise there, huh?

Pretend

Well all know that kids immerse themselves in imaginary play. But yesterday I was amazed at Sophies imagination. She was playing on Zoes toy lap top, heaving great sighs, and "oh man!!Come on! Why didn't she??" I asked her what she was doing and she replied,
"I'm waiting for Katey to e-mail me." (her friend from school)
I said honey, that computer doesn't do e-mail!
Sophie goes, "Thats ok. She is at her house PRETENDING to e mail me so I am waiting. It hasn't come yet though."
A few more minutes tapping at the keys then she whips out her purple plastic cell phone.
I asked what she was now doing and this is the answer I got.
"Hold on. "( puts her hand over the phone and looks at me with the SAME look I give her when she interrupts me on the phone!) "Mom. I am talking to Katey!"
I go about my business and she goes on and on totally sounding like she was having a real converstaions. Complete with umm hmms, and oh I know!, Oh thats just my sister, and big long pauses like she was actually talking to someone. I wish I had recorded it. I could not believe that there really wasn't someone she was talking to. Just pretend!! The converstaion drifted to such a variety of subjects that I would have to remind myself that she was using a plastic toy. It was unreal and she carried on for a good 20 minutes. Now if she would only pretend to do chores with that kind of accuracy!

Again???

Oh man I have the same nasty virus that I did over new years. This time I am just gonna have to work out through it, coughing and all. I thought it was just allergies acting up again. Well my shot glasses are perfect for dosing nyquil! Poor Nick will have to live with eau de Vicks for a while, again!!! ( he really hates the smell of the stuff but it does work for me!) no one else gets it so I think it is allergy related. Then again, I am the only one who did not get a flu shot this year and am beginning to sorely regret that! Lets just hope the monster headache from you know where stays far far away. Ok enough of me feeling sorry for myself. Life goes on and chores never end!! Bring on the Vicks, Tissues and Nyquil.. yahoo!!

Wimpy

Oh my am I ever out of shape. I worked out today and my arms are shaking now!! I just want to fall down and go to sleep. I thought exercise was supposed to give you MORE energy, huh?? I think I am still worn out from that monster headache yesterday. Mom and Dad we are working on getting you out here and I am beyond excited. It will make something sad for me a bit better. Soon its going to be just me and the girls for a while. It is very fustrating , I can't give details this time so I don't have offical dates. Just keep Nick in your prayers. Thanks everyone! I have to say some of your blogs have the neatest tools and I want to know where you got em, Mo where did you get that tracker thingy from and how do you put people on it?? Its like a security camera for your blog, so neato! Well its lunchtime for us here ( as Zoe is loudly reminding me of at the moment, over and over) and I have lots of cleaning to do to get ready for (mabye) company!!! Yahoooooooooo!

what a headache

Oh I have had the WORST sinus headache today. Nothing seems to be working on it. My allergies are just terrible right now too. I am just moping because I couldn't work out today and man do I need it! I ran Sat. morning and it didn't hurt too much yesterday. I have to say my arms are still sore from playing so much WII with the kids! I have not started the puzzle yet but my blanket is coming along nicely. However the pattern that was labled begginer , well I am doubting that is accurate. It is a lot harder than I thought, and I really have to concentrate, count, and pay attention. I think I need help, I am a marshmallow addict! BURNT marshmallow. I love them and have nearly eaten myself sick twice! I am thinking about them right now, headache and all. mmmmmmmm
I thought this was funny today. I was listening to Sophie and Zoe deciding what to play:
Z. Lets play stuper heros!
S. No. Lets play the family. ( i have never heard her say that, it was a version of playing house.)
Z. Ok, you be the mom and I'll be the doggy
S. No, i'll be the mom and you be the Honey.
Z. Ok. (then in a deep voice) oh honey how are you ? I am a doggy.
S. NOOO, IM the mom and you can be the other mom! Yeah, your my friend!
z. Ok friend. I am a doggy.
s.Nevermind. Lets be superheros.
Z. Ok but I get to be the doggy! ( does a karate kick) heeeee yaaaa!
S. ( just walks off to play doggy in her room)
They just crack me up sometimes!
So it is later and I did FINALLY get rid of that awful headache. Good ol motrin and some caffeine works every time! My husband convinced me to start watching this movie ( Departed) and now HE is asleep and I am up trying to finish it!!! Oh man am I gonna be tired tomorrow. Oh I have to clarify, we have a fire pit and skewers, and of course.... marshmallows!! So that is where the whole marshmallow addiction thing comes from. I go through all the hoop de do of making a fire in the fire pit JUST to have the roasted marshmallows. mmmm I wonder if you can do em in the microwave..... Just kidding!!

Nicks Birthday

As you can see, there are no pics. That is because he prefers I don't post them of him or blog to much about him. OH well, I love you and happy birthday, so there!
After having to re schedule four times, we are finally having our date tonight!! I am beginning to wonder if it was meant to be though , someone is bone tired. Our plan is dinner and a movie (thanks again for the tickets Uncle Ray!) but it is early yet. We are enjoying the 78 or so weather. I keep forgetting sunblock for the kids, which around here is essential!! I am just glad they can play outdoors. Even got my patio cleaned up although that blasted purple sand re appeared all over almost instantly. I have to say the only drawback to the great weather is miserable allergies for me, now affecting my eyes. Not sure if we will get another "cold" snap or not, this is my first California winter. Not much new here, have a great weekend everyone!

Golden Gate

First up is Alcatrez and then is me and the girls in front of the Golden Gate bridge. The next one is the bridge and that lady just would not MOVE. ( she was up on a rock or something). The bridge was packed with people and cars and so we didn't bother to get closer. The last one we took on the way home when we stopped at downtown Disneyland to have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Then was a stop at the two story Build A Bear ( too crowded to do more than walk through) and the Lego store. I have sent most of you those pictures I think. Well everyone wish Nick a happy Birthday even though the poor guy has to work late tonight. Thats better than where he usually is for his birthday!! Will keep you updated if we do end up going out ... eventually. I know he has his eye on some famous steak house. Oh well, I should be eating just salad anyway!! Actually, if they have bread I will be just fine.
I have to say here, it has been 78 for the past three days. I just can't get used to it. My mind thinks its April! There are winter commercials all over tv and I am like..huh?? Last week I was wearing a coat and wishing I had a hat. This week I was complaining because I have to wear a specail jacket on the motorcycle and it was sweltering! Time to break out the razor again. Time to find shorts/capris that I can still squeeze my fat butt into. Usually I have more time to get in shape before I have to have my legs exposed. YIKES.
I am not ready!! We go through gallons of sunblock. Sophie and Zoe have new gloves they try to wear every morning.
poor kids! I am sure by the time we leave here I will be used to it, but right now it is just weird.

San Fransico!

Here are finally some pics of our Trip to San Fran. As you can see, the city is famous for its fog. You would not believe how tall those buildings actually are! The streets are so steep, it is amazing. Going down Lombard street was , well... curvy!! I don't know how anyone actally lives there with a billion people walking down their street taking pictures every day. Last is Emily in China town. It was a steep walk and we were tired to we didn't get to the butcher shops... ( I have heard the food markets are something else!) All in all it was a great trip and this day in the city was a blast.

New Year, New Do

WOW! WHO is that gorgeous girl??? YES Katey finally wanted bangs. I know it is very different, but I have to say, the results are great!In fact, it makes her pro haircut look better. Yes, I cut them,but shhhh. If it isnt a hit a school some salon messed it up! :) I think that she FINALLY looks ( well, yes just like me at that age, but anyway) 14!!!! Oh those of you who have known her since babyhood, stop sniffling. she is growing up. ( okay, I almost shed a few tears too!!) Her daddy is out buying a shotgun now.....

Well, it was until I came down with this virus! We had a great vacation, will post more on that later. Probably wont hear from me for a few days, I am really sick !! Can't even take a deep breath and lost my voice. ( not that anyone misses it, lol) Might call the doc tomorrow. Pics and fun stuff about our great vacation coming soon. Happy Flu Season everyone!
