Morning Person

NOT. I am so Not a morning person. However sleep seems to elude me. I have been getting to bed late, kinda broke some of my better sleep plan rules. I plan on getting back on track tonight. I once again was up at5:30 this morning. I hate it but the older girls kinda like it. It is nice to see them off. I am ending this post before I doze off here at the computer. Heres to me finally catching some zzzzzz's.

Early wake up call

I went to bed late last night. What, might you ask, was I doing?? Sitting here missing Nick because he is working nights? (well a little but that wasn't it.) Having a few drinks? ( nope) Watching something interesting on TV? ( nope). I was crocheting. I haven't done it in years. Made slippers yesterday afternoon, and am working on mittens for Emily now. WHY does she need mittens in Southern California?? I don't know, but that was her request. I am "hooked" now.
GOOD news, the snowman globe has been repaired. All the little fake snow puffy thingys dried out and it works great. So I get a nasty wake up call this morning, with the GIRLS fighting. They argued so loud they woke up Sophie and Zoe. GRRRRR, an entire HOUR before they need to get up! Oh well I was awake with a splitting headache anyway. So I have been turned into a morning person against my will. SUPPOSED to clean today but am thinking Zoe might want snuggle time in mammas bed????Ok MAMMA wants snuglle time! ( If I am not crocheting!)
To all of you who have snow, I am soo jealous. Make a snowman for us. Send us pictures. The only excitement here is the Santa Ana winds blowing that blasted purple sand all over and my lights down. ugh.
Well Good morning to all and hope you have a great day! YAWN>

Where have i been?

I actually worked out today. Did the beginner level and it kicked my but. Wasn't too happy with the belly flopping round while I was jumping all over, ugh. I finally feel semi-rested and not to crampy ( long story) and my shoulder is better. Also I couldn't button my pants yesterday. well, i could but they were sick tight. Yikes! So I got in a little energy spurt, vaccuumed, cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floor. Oh man was is dirty. Where have I been that it got so gross?? I have a ton a cleaning to do but I am spreading it over the next few days. I finally cleaned all the purple sand off the back patio. I discovered that not only was Zoya dumping it everywhere, but someone had literally pulled the plug. I was gonna go next door and offer to sweep their porch too, I feel bad cuz the purple *&^* is everywhere!! That would annoy me. I have to remember to put the cover on too. It doesn't rain but the Santa Anas blow all the sand out.
In other news, my snowman globe is in need of repair. It has a hole in the seam ( I am pretty sure I can just sew it up) but the @#$@%$ ( I know, language!) sprinkler came on ( they claimed they wouuld be shut off till Feb) and it got inside. Now all the tiny fake snow foamy thingys are clumped together. I am not sure they will ever dry out! I did take it down so they could mow, arent' I a good resident? Mostly I didn't want the weed whackers to really pop the thing.
I discovered that I need a few more gifts for Sophie, so I am not done like I thought. Once again it seems they are getting too much! Most of it is small stuff though, and the "big" things are really for the family, like WII games and DVDS. The older girls understand but Sophie and Zoe dont yet. I think six is a very self centered age, but she is also very generous, wanting to wrap her stuffed animals for gifts! So much for my careful keeping track and not getting too much. I do this every year. In my defense, like I said some things are movies we would have bought anyway. I will wrap anything really!
Well now that I am part of the living again I have a lot of clutter to clear out, things to put away and craft crap ( yes crap) to clean out and organize. Oh yeah, I still make some things for Sophie, yikes! Lets hope this is the end, or mostly end of my "moving" depression and I keep at least some of this eneregy and focus!

Cards

My Cards are done!!!! I am so thrilled. I have most of them addressed, just need stamps ( and a few overseas stamps, thanks guys!) and they are outta here. Spent all evening with my gingerbread candle lit, and some ginger tea. Sadly no cookies ( not like I need them!) and yes, NO WINE, like i usually have. sigh. I did enjoy the tea although now I have no excuse for my messy child like handwriting. Today I am going to get some craft projects done. Time is slipping away from me. I will resist the urge to clean and get it done. After I do some laundry, shower.....argh.
Tonight the Santa Train comes to the base, all lit up with you know who on board. Nick is taking the girls, a daddy daughter outing. No mommy is not staying home to have wine. ( wouldn't that be nice??) I am gonna have more tea ( it does put me in a Christmasy mood I must admit!) and WRAP GIFTS!! Since we have NO storage they are just laying around. I think Katey and Emily are not gonna be surprised come Christmas morning. The urge to peek was just to great. I did that one year and was crushed when what I saw was ALL i got and there were no magical surprises. I am hoping that is the lesson they learn. I have to laugh we did take a few things back. ( just decided that it wasn't worth it, or found something better/different) so THAT will be a shocker if they have been snooping. Lesson learned? Well I must get off this computer and get some things done today, after church of course! :)

Tree

So I have this tree I bought when we lived in England. Got it on sale and dragged the sucker home. As I set it up this year I noticed all the needles falling off. You can see straight through it but I can't seem to buy a new one! They are so expensive. I was pouting over this dilemma (even on sale trees are over $100) while I was decorating the other day. Sophie and Zoe were "helping" and having a grand time. I overheard them talking to eachother and this is what they said:
S: This goes here
Z : OK! (all excited) over here!
s: Now we put the tar ( star) on, it goes near the top. I will do it. I am bigger.
z: Yeah I do the candy cans!
s: Oh Zoe lets put this one on ( all near the same spot)
z ooooooh thats boooootiful!!! ( a sparkly snowflake)
s. there. This is the most beautifulest tree ever. (Sighing and admiring her work)
z. oh yes! I love it!
So It might be a tree worthy of Charlie Brown but to two little girls it is the mostest beautifulest thing they have ever seen. The lights are on the wall switch so they take turns making it light. I guess this is why I still haven't bought a new tree!!
Happy Decorating!

Di d Better Today

I went to Micheals, and I love that store!! I got lots of stocking stuffers, last minute inexpensive gift ( read $1.00 ea!!) for the kids for the Co Xmas party that is Friday, and a gift for Katey. I also, ha ha ha bought a gift for ME! Nick doesn't have to worry now. :) It is a cricut cartridge and they were on sale. They rarely go on sale and are really expensive so I am very excited. want to use it but am waiting till Christmas.....
I found a box of craft stuff I got last year on sale so I have plenty to keep Zoe busy. I STILL have to get the annual picture of the girls for my cards. I am very dissapointed because I was expecting Sophies School picture by now. Not much else to report here, hope everyone elses Holiday shopping is going well.

Shop till you drop

I really dislike Shopping. Hard to believe I know. I set out today, planning on three stores ( most were grocery) missed my exit, ended up at Walmart and left with a pounding hedache. Spent a lot of money and got ONE gift!! I am this close to saying forget the shipping I am ordering ONLINE. It was exhausting! Zoe was so good , but there was just too much sale this, bargain that, Christmas this.... I could not even think straight. We just came home for lunch, didn't even get the stuff I NEEDED. I feel very pressured and stressed. Like I am not getting anything done. I am trying to keep the true spirit of Christmas in my heart , but I kinda feel the joy has been sucked out this year. A lot has to do with my mood and personal issues so I am not going to let that get the kids down. Yes I am working on writing things down and getting organized but I never seem to have time. My next post should be a more positive one.
